The 2 Most Common Types of Storage Racks Today

Warehouse racks are used to support the storage and transportation of goods within a warehouse. They can accommodate everything from light items to heavy products, including both finished goods and raw materials.

Using warehouse racks helps create a more organized and systematic arrangement of goods. They optimize storage space and facilitate the management and retrieval of items. By implementing warehouse racks, you can establish an efficient working environment and enhance the storage and handling processes.

Functions of Warehouse Storage Racks

Warehouse storage racks serve multiple important functions in storing and managing goods in a warehouse. Some key functions include:

1. Organizing and Increasing Storage Space
Warehouse racks allow you to utilize vertical space, increasing storage capacity. They help arrange goods neatly and efficiently, creating free space to store more items in a smaller area.

2. Supporting Weight and Ensuring Durability
Storage racks are designed to withstand the weight of goods, from light to heavy items. Made from high-quality materials such as steel, they ensure stability and safety for stored products.

3. Easy Access and Inventory Management
Warehouse racks are designed for convenient access and management of goods. They can be built in multiple levels and sizes, allowing easy organization and categorization of products.

4. Enhancing Safety
Storage racks are designed to ensure the safety of both goods and warehouse staff. They can be equipped with protective features such as guard rails to prevent items from falling or tipping over.

5. Optimizing Workflow
Warehouse racks improve operational efficiency by creating an effective arrangement system. This saves time and effort when locating or retrieving items while reducing risks and errors in warehouse management.

Most Common Types of Warehouse Storage Racks Today

Heavy-Duty Racks
Heavy-duty racks are used to store heavy goods and are designed with multiple levels to accommodate pallets with loads exceeding 800 kg per tier. They are an ideal choice for safely and efficiently storing heavy items. These racks offer high durability and load-bearing capacity, ensuring stability and safety for stored products.

Double Deep Rack.

This type of rack allows for the storage of a large volume of goods, with a weight capacity ranging from 1,500 to 6,000 kg per tier, and can hold 2 to 4 pallets per level. Double Deep Racks can reach a maximum height of up to 10 meters, with shelf depths ranging from 1,200 mm to 4,500 mm. They are made from high-quality Japanese steel and are electrostatically coated to resist corrosion. These racks are assembled using bolts and include components such as beams, uprights, guide rails, protective posts, hook bases, diagonal braces, and horizontal braces.

Drive-In Racks

Drive-In Racks are large-sized storage racks capable of holding up to twice the capacity of conventional warehouse racks, with a minimum load capacity of ≥ 500 kg per pallet. Each rack can have up to 8 levels and can accommodate 2 to 8 pallets on a single Drive-In rail system, with the potential for even more. A key characteristic of these racks is that they can only store a single type of pallet with uniform dimensions.

Drive-In Racks are assembled from components such as braces, uprights, pallet guide rails, protective posts, top bearers, and rail supports. These elements create a solid and stable rack system for storing goods. The Drive-In design allows users to maximize warehouse space efficiently, offering flexibility for storing uniform goods and increasing storage capacity.

Drive-In Racks are commonly used in large warehouses with high inventory turnover that require space optimization. By accommodating multiple pallets on a single rail system, Drive-In Racks enhance storage capacity while saving valuable floor space.
