MELTIO’s New Metal 3D Printing Material Line

admin cdsvietnam Wednesday, August, 2025

Meltio Materials

The new family of metal 3D printing materials now entering the market is fully compatible with Meltio’s proprietary Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) technology. This portfolio prominently includes stainless steels (316L, 308), machinable mild steel ER70S, impact-resistant carbon steels, titanium alloys, nickel alloys, Invar, cobalt-chrome, and selected rare metals supplied upon specific customer project requirements.

While open materials such as copper or aluminum provide users with broader choices and easier sourcing from various suppliers, Meltio-certified materials deliver a superior experience. Customers can be assured that each alloy has been fully validated, with optimized machine parameters pre-configured for seamless printing.

This enables users to employ Meltio or third-party design files with only minimal setup. As a result, companies can streamline design validation, reduce material qualification efforts, and avoid lengthy supplier search processes.

Additionally, every product in the Meltio material portfolio is competitively priced, aiming to enhance user experience and maximize industrial adoption across a wide range of applications.

3D Printing with Meltio LMD

Since its early development, Meltio has established a strong reputation with its multi-metal LMD additive manufacturing technology, enabling a wide spectrum of industrial applications.

  • Stainless steels provide excellent corrosion resistance and outstanding mechanical properties, widely used in marine, architectural, and construction industries.

  • Mild steels offer high ductility, while titanium alloys are valued for superior heat resistance, making them suitable for aerospace, energy, medical, electronics, petrochemical, and automotive sectors.

Meltio’s LMD 3D printing process is a Directed Energy Deposition (DED) method, in which multiple laser beams melt metallic materials—delivered as wire feedstock—through a deposition nozzle. The molten droplets fuse layer by layer to build a 3D structure directly from digital design data.

To achieve complete production workflows with LMD technology, a reliable 3D printer is essential. The Meltio M450 and Meltio Engine are ideal solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises, integrating advanced CNC systems with automated computer control for consistent, high-quality builds.

This flexibility allows operators to perform multiple processes on the same component within a single workflow—improving productivity and optimizing costs simultaneously.
